Hubble-bubble toil and trouble!

Why not introduce the kids to your joys of brewing – and use your kit for some wholesome family fun!

We found a great Jamaican Ginger Beer recipe to get the kids brewing this half term! For a special touch or to create a Halloween themed beverage use our swing top bottles and get the kids to create their own spooky labels!





Makes about 4 litres

500g fresh ginger root, washed and finely chopped

800g unrefined sugar

Juice of 4 lemons

2 tsp. dried beer yeast (our US craft beer yeast works a treat)


1. Combine the ginger, sugar and 4 litres boiling water in a bowl. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the lemon juice and stir again. Set aside for an hour to cool. When tepid, whisk in the yeast.


2. Cover with a cloth and leave for 24 hours in a cool place. Strain through a fine sieve lined with muslin cloth. Decant into sterilised bottles. The ginger beer will keep in the fridge for up to a week.


For a seasonal touch you could add a pinch of pumpkin spice to the mix!
