Information we collect about you

The information that we collect about you will only be used lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018) All data is retained within the United Kingdom, or transferred only to ‘third countries’ where ‘adequacy of protection’ or specific certification as defined by The GDPR has been confirmed.

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • information that you provide by filling in forms on our website or at events where you might sign-up to hear from us or pass us your business card.
    • This includes information you provide at the time of registering or at any subsequent point. As part of the sign-up process, we’ll ask for you to fill in a form that will tell us your:
      • Name
      • Address
      • Email
      • Phone number
      • Birthday
      • Favourite Beer Style
      • Brewing History
      • Current Brewing Equipment
  • We keep a record of all purchases and shipments made to you – however we do not hold any payment information as this is all processed by our 3rd party Payment Processor Stripe.
  • if you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence;
  • any testimonials or reviews shared with us may be used in marketing material either printed or digital. We will only use your first initial and surname to keep your full identity private.
  • we may also ask you to complete customer satisfaction surveys that we use for our own research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them;
  • We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical information about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual. Again, this is common and fundamental to most online businesses and helps us understand how our website is being used and areas of it we could improve in the future
  • details of your visits to our website may be captured anonymously by HeatMaps or recordings to assess the customer journey.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Unless otherwise required by law, your purchase data will be stored for a period of 7 years after our last contact with you/or last purchase, at which point it will be made anonymous or deleted.

You may unsubscribe from any of our mailing lists at any time.  We will periodically clean our mailing lists to remove people who have not opened any of our mailings over a period of several years.

  • Google Analytics – uses cookies to track data anonymously to allow us to analyse our website visitors and provide a better service.
  • Facebook Pixel- This website uses retargeting services from the social network Facebook. Facebook collects certain information via cookies to determine which web pages are visited. This data is then used to associate your browser with interest and demographic categories, and serve Facebook ads based on your past visits to this website. Please note that any information collected by Facebook via cookies is not linked to any customer’s personal information collected by us.
  • MailChimp – If you have opted into our mailing lists your contact info is stored with them.
  • Survey Monkey – exit survey and other customer satisfaction and information surveys
  • Fresh Chat – On-line chat system will have your contact details as entered to the chat system.
  • Stripe Payments – Payment Gateway processor.
  • LinkDigital – website developer has access to our order history data and account log-ins.
  • Social Media Platforms – This website may use social sharing buttons which help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question.  Users are advised that they do so at their own discretion and note that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page respectively through your social media platform account.

Where do the cookies come from?

  • The software that runs this site (WordPress) may transfer a temporary cookie so it can keep track of what it’s doing. As it’s temporary it may be deleted when you leave the site.
  • So that we can measure the popularity of posts, where people come from and other general statistics, this site uses Google Analytics as well as FaceBook Pixels. It may store cookies to track new and repeat visitors. It does not have any detail on who you are.
  • Advertising links can use cookies to track from which site you came from. Some of those will be for affiliate links where cookies are used in tracking and within payment systems.

Where we store your personal information

Your passwords are stored on i20 servers in encrypted form. Besides the 3rd party tools we use to offer you the best service, we do not disclose your account details, postal or email addresses to anyone except when legally required to do so.
